Big Picture Wrap-Up

What a great week! Whew! It was busy and crazy, but our annual Big Picture event was amazing.

The spirit and excitement in the air was contagious and I couldn’t have asked for a better group of people with whom to spend so much time. Our team really is some of the best people I know. Yes, they are all trained professionals and colleagues, but they’re also people that anyone would want as a friend.

Our entire team met up at our home office for training and sharing. Our Product Specialists had time to share with each other experiences and advice. They also had time to share with our home office team their suggestions for improvements. The team brought so many ideas and we’re really excited to implement some great new tools that I know our customers will love. Our Web Application team will be very busy!

Product Specialists Meeting

Product Specialists Meeting

After three days of internal gatherings we welcomed our manufacturers on Saturday morning. All our favorite brands came, including Pride, Golden, Joerns, Roho, TiLite, Hill-Rom, Afikim and many more. They brought their newest products, as well as some bestselling favorites. Our Product Specialists got hands-on time to experience all the scooters, lifts and wheelchairs. They had great questions for each of the brands and really learned what makes each product unique and how they can help individuals choose the right product for their needs.

We even got sneak-peeks at new scooters, power chairs and lift chairs that haven’t even been introduced yet!  (more to come!)

While our Specialists were experiencing the products, our Service & Parts team was busy taking everything apart. It was really fun to see our Service team dismantle scooters and lift chair motors all over the place. They really do want to understand exactly how everything works so they in turn can help our customers.

It was a busy and fun weekend. SpinLife is the only HME retailer who does this and it keeps getting better every year.

Everyone left more energized and excited for the busy spring and summer months to come.

Thanks to everyone for a great weekend and see you soon!

Looking Forward to Big Picture 2016

Happy Wednesday everyone! I’m taking a moment to breathe and share a preview of our Annual Big Picture event. Every year SpinLife hosts a unique weekend when our Product Experts and our great partner brands all convene at our home offices for 5 days of crazy, wonderful SpinLife magic. We’re the only online retailer who actually invites their manufacturers to physically come to our offices and show off their latest and greatest products and do training with our teams.

Our Big Picture events start today with internal roundtables between our departments. This is a great time for our Product Experts to share with the Marketing, Merchandising, and WebApp teams what they’re hearing on the phones. This helps them choose better products to list on the website, and make site changes to help our team and inform our customers. Our departments talk to each other every day, all year. But this is really a great time to discuss the “big picture”.

Four steps to your best custom power chair

Learn about Power Wheelchairs at SpinLife!

Let’s take a step by step approach to help choose the best custom Power wheelchair

Step One

What is your height when standing, and your weight? To get the best service out of your Power wheelchair, your size and its capabilities must match. Generally standard Power wheelchairs are rated for up to 300 lbs. Heavy Duty power wheelchairs increase the weight rating by increasing the size of the powerbase itself, the strength of the motors and other materials that make up the chair. Pick a chair rated at least 10% over your actual weight.

Measure across your lap to see how wide a seat you will need, stay as narrow as possible for better maneuverability. If you are tall or have long legs, you will need a deeper seat than standard.

Step Two

Where will the chair be used most often? Inside, outside or both? The object is of course, to provide the maximum independence for the user. If we are to use a chair outside over rougher terrain here are a few models of chairs which will be much better.
